The Local Area
Sandsend is a delightful picture postcard village with pubs and cafes dotting
the sea front. It is a very walkable three miles (depending upon the tides of
course) along Whitby's sandy beach, at the end of the bay - hence its name! Two
becks run into the sea and form Sandsend's main feature, each one having its own
distinct character.
Once here, getting around is straightforward, whether you bring your car, walk,
cycle or choose to use the reliable forms of public transport that leave regularly
from the village. We are also fortunate to be ideally situated near a wide variety
of tourist attractions to cater for all tastes and requirements. Heartbeat
country for example is only eight miles inland.
These are the views that can be seen from your bedroom window.
